Blair Athol 10 Tasting Notes
Official tasting notes
Nose: Pronounced fruity aromas are immediately detectable. Then there are notes of oak, strawberry jam, a touch of chocolate and warmth of spice.
Palate: A quick strike of cracked black pepper fills the mouth and then dissipates. A softer red fruit and sweetness oozes onto the palate. Unctuous and rich jam, chocolate and dried fruits follow close behind. A touch of leather, oak and a hint of vanilla meander through.
Finish: The warmth remains a long time in the mouth. There are more mature chocolate and leathery tones. A drying spice lingers on.
Ed's review
Colour: Natural colour, golden hay with oily legs sliding down the side of my glass.
Nose: Tarte au citron with buttery pastry, dusted with icing sugar. Strawberry jam on toast. Gentle oak and a little wood spice.
Palate: Strawberries with black pepper and vanilla cream. Redcurrants and macerated berries. Fruit milk chocolate.
Finish: The fruit milk chocolate from the palate continues into the finish. Warming spice leaves the palate tingling, ready for another dram.
About Uncharted's Strawberry Fields
Strawberry Fields is brought to life by the combination of three sister casks. Each has the same splendid un-peated spirit from Blair Athol, soaked in first fill red wine oak for 10 years. Each cask was filled on the same day, and bottled on the same day. Uncharted Whisky's gorgeous bottles are each filled and labelled by hand in small batches.
This single malt is rich, unctuous, heady, aromatic, sweet and just dreamy. Pair that with the pink hue from the first fill red wine cask and the name "Strawberry Fields" is most appropriate. The scent of fresh red berries meander out of the glass. An astounding whisky, best paired with an excellent record and an otherwise chilled out evening.

What about taxes?
All alcoholic products sold by TopWhiskies are sold subject to UK alcohol tax, which is already included in the price.
UK sales are subject to VAT (currently 20%), which is included in the price. Sales outside of the UK are not subject to this tax, and international prices do not include it.
We use a specialist US shipper who sorts out US taxes. These costs are factored into the US shipping charges. So shipping may look pricey, but remember it covers your taxes as well.
For all other territories, including those in Europe, please note: your order could be subject to local sales taxes and duties upon arrival in the destination country. All additional charges are the responsibility of the recipient. As customs policies vary widely from country to country, TopWhiskies has no control over these charges, so you should contact your local customs office for further information. If you refuse to pay any import duties and taxes, this could result in the goods being destroyed by customs or being returned back to us - any refund offered would include a deduction of our costs.
Which couriers do you use?
In the UK we use Royal Mail, Parcelforce and APC. US orders are sent via UPS. International orders use FedEx and DHL.
