Blair Athol 10 Tasting Notes

Nose: Pronounced fruity aromas are immediately detectable. Then there are notes of oak, strawberry jam, a touch of chocolate and warmth of spice.

Palate: A quick strike of cracked black pepper fills the mouth and then dissipates. A softer red fruit and sweetness oozes onto the palate. Unctuous and rich jam, chocolate and dried fruits follow close behind. A touch of leather, oak and a hint of vanilla meander through.

Finish: The warmth remains a long time in the mouth. There are more mature chocolate and leathery tones. A drying spice lingers on.

About Strawberry Fields

Strawberry Fields is brought to life by the combination of three sister casks. Each has the same splendid un-peated spirit from Blair Athol, soaked in first fill red wine oak for 10 years. Each cask was filled on the same day, and bottled on the same day. Uncharted's gorgeous bottles are each filled and labelled by hand in small batches.

This single malt is rich, unctuous, heady, aromatic, sweet and just dreamy. Pair that with the pink hue from the first fill red wine cask and the name "Strawberry Fields" is most appropriate. The scent of fresh red berries meander out of the glass. An astounding whisky, best paired with an excellent record and an otherwise chilled out evening.
