Heroes and Heretics Darkside Tasting Notes
Nose: Honeysuckle and salty air.
Palate: Melon, peaches and honey.
Finish: Hint of desiccated coconut.
Colour: Natural colour; dark ruby gold. Coats my copita in a thick gloss with dense legs sliding down the glass.
Nose: Big ester notes hit you as soon as you open the bottle. Dark red berries macerated in muscovado sugar. Fruit salad with melon. Ginger cake soaked in golden syrup. Oak and vanilla from the cask. The alcohol is well integrated.
Palate: More of those dark red berries. Tropical fruit, including sticky mango and barbecued pineapples. Tobacco in an old leather pouch. Caramel and cinnamon. A menthol characteristic that reminds me of a rye whiskey. The alcohol lends body without burn.

About this rum
Master Blended Omario Perdomo founded Travellers Liquors in 1953. They've been distilling rum since 1953. They gained their name from serving travellers along the main route into Belize City. Travellers uses high-test molasses with natural fermentation. This, coupled with a double-distillation method, gives their rum a smoother taste.
Darkwood Rum by Heroes & Heretics represents happy days in the Caribbean basin. There are bright, sunny mornings spent relaxing on a lounger. Lazy afternoons under green and lofty palm trees. And mysterious, adventurous evenings listen to the beat of the city around you.
Smile as you look upon temperate seas and clear blue skies. Feel the gorgeous white sands as they run through your toes. Hear the faint sound of steel drums playing. Smell the sweet scent of honeysuckle fill the fresh salty air. Enjoy sun ripened melon and peaches covered in honey and desiccated coconut.

What about taxes?
All alcoholic products sold by TopWhiskies are sold subject to UK alcohol tax, which is already included in the price.
UK sales are subject to VAT (currently 20%), which is included in the price. Sales outside of the UK are not subject to this tax, and international prices do not include it.
We use a specialist US shipper who sorts out US taxes. These costs are factored into the US shipping charges. So shipping may look pricey, but remember it covers your taxes as well.
For all other territories, including those in Europe, please note: your order could be subject to local sales taxes and duties upon arrival in the destination country. All additional charges are the responsibility of the recipient. As customs policies vary widely from country to country, TopWhiskies has no control over these charges, so you should contact your local customs office for further information. If you refuse to pay any import duties and taxes, this could result in the goods being destroyed by customs or being returned back to us - any refund offered would include a deduction of our costs.
Which couriers do you use?
In the UK we use Royal Mail, Parcelforce and APC. US orders are sent via UPS. International orders use FedEx and DHL.
