About this Woodrow's whisky

Woodrow's of Edinburgh introduces a vibrant 10-year-old Teaninich single malt as part of their Warehouse Reserve range, crafted by founder Woody Tan. Distilled on November 20, 2013, and bottled on May 14, 2024, this Highland whisky combines Teaninich’s fresh and fruity character with a luxurious finish. Initially matured in a bourbon hogshead, it was finished for 21 months in a first-fill American oak oloroso sherry hogshead (cask 707145), imparting layers of rich dried fruits, warm spices, and a touch of citrus. Bottled at a bold cask strength of 56.8%, with natural colour and no chill filtration, it’s a pure and dynamic expression. With an outturn of 289 bottles, this limited release is an exciting find for whisky enthusiasts.

Meet The Founder

Woody Tan

Originally from Hong Kong, Woody Tan has lived in Scotland since 2011. He studied an MSc in Brewing and Distilling at Heriot-Watt University, and then went into the cask trade and warehouse keeping. While looking after casks, he started to discover gems that he felt had to be shared with fellow whisky lovers. He bottles these special casks under his Woodrow’s of Edinburgh label.

Woody has an excellent palate, and a knack for uncovering really flavoursome casks. He’s also a wizard when it comes to cask experiments, and has released some interesting cask-finished whiskies.
