About this Woodrow's whisky

Woodrow's of Edinburgh presents an exceptional 33-year-old Strathmill single malt in their Warehouse Reserve range, crafted by founder Woody Tan. Distilled on May 10, 1991, and bottled on May 14, 2024, this Speyside whisky is a testament to the art of long maturation. Aged in a sherry hogshead before a finishing period in a refill hogshead (cask 2147), it offers a layered profile of dried fruits, gentle oak, and a touch of spice, balanced with the elegance that defines Strathmill. Bottled at a cask strength of 59.5%, with natural colour and no chill filtration, this release captures the whisky in its purest form. With just 157 bottles available, it’s a real treat.

Meet The Founder

Woody Tan

Originally from Hong Kong, Woody Tan has lived in Scotland since 2011. He studied an MSc in Brewing and Distilling at Heriot-Watt University, and then went into the cask trade and warehouse keeping. While looking after casks, he started to discover gems that he felt had to be shared with fellow whisky lovers. He bottles these special casks under his Woodrow’s of Edinburgh label.

Woody has an excellent palate, and a knack for uncovering really flavoursome casks. He’s also a wizard when it comes to cask experiments, and has released some interesting cask-finished whiskies.
