Woody's tasting notes

Nose: Fudge, honey, orchard fruits and accompanied by a slightly floral note.

Palate: Salted caramel, lemon, white chocolate and vanilla.

Finish: Creamy and fresh finish with a touch of oak spice.

Colour: Natural colour, bright straw. Oily in the glass, with lots of parallel legs running down.

Nose: Creamy, with notes of orange, a coastal salinity, and a hint of grass - backed by light oak and vanilla.

Palate: Medium to full mouthfeel. Again, creamy or buttery. Orchard fruits meet citrus with apples and oranges. A minerality and salinity balance a gentle sweetness. Vanilla and oak add a classic ex-bourbon profile. Alcohol is well integrated.

Finish: Malt and hay into salt and spice.

Overall: An elegant Pulteney expression with a classy ex-bourbon character.

Distilled on November 21, 2007, and bottled on June 2, 2023, this Highland whisky captures Pulteney’s coastal charm and distinctive character. Matured exclusively in a first-fill bourbon barrel (cask 700721), it delivers a vibrant profile of creamy vanilla, citrus zest, and subtle maritime notes. Bottled at a robust cask strength of 57.8%, with natural colour and no chill filtration, this is a pure and unadulterated expression of Pulteney’s craft. With only 225 bottles available, it’s a rare release.

How much is shipping?

What about taxes?

All alcoholic products sold by TopWhiskies are sold subject to UK alcohol tax, which is already included in the price.

UK sales are subject to VAT (currently 20%), which is included in the price. Sales outside of the UK are not subject to this tax, and international prices do not include it.

We use a specialist US shipper who sorts out US taxes. These costs are factored into the US shipping charges. So shipping may look pricey, but remember it covers your taxes as well, so there'll be no further bills to pay.

For all other territories, including those in Europe, please note: your order could be subject to local sales taxes and duties upon arrival in the destination country. All additional charges are the responsibility of the recipient. Which couriers do you use?

In the UK we use Royal Mail, Parcelforce and APC. US orders are sent via UPS. International orders use FedEx and DHL. Orders are despatched from our UK warehouse Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays.

Carbon neutral?

Yes, all our deliveries are carbon neutral. We work with Planet to estimate the carbon impact of each delivery, and then purchase carbon removal credits to offset the emissions.

Meet The Founder

Woody Tan

Originally from Hong Kong, Woody Tan has lived in Scotland since 2011. He studied an MSc in Brewing and Distilling at Heriot-Watt University, and then went into the cask trade and warehouse keeping. While looking after casks, he started to discover gems that he felt had to be shared with fellow whisky lovers. He bottles these special casks under his Woodrow’s of Edinburgh label.

Woody has an excellent palate, and a knack for uncovering really flavoursome casks. He’s also a wizard when it comes to cask experiments, and has released some interesting cask-finished whiskies.
