About this Woodrow's whisky
This 10-year-old Campbeltown teaspooned malt is a characterful and quietly confident release from Woodrow's of Edinburgh, bottled as part of the Warehouse Reserve range. Distilled on 3 February 2015 and bottled on 20 January 2026, it offers a fascinating snapshot of modern Campbeltown spirit at a relatively young but expressive age.
Campbeltown whiskies are renowned for their oily textures, subtle maritime influence, and a distinctive balance between fruit, salt, and gentle earthiness. Even without naming the distillery, those classic regional hallmarks are very much on display here. Matured entirely in a single hogshead (cask 75), the cask has allowed the spirit to develop naturally, with clarity and definition rather than heavy-handed oak influence.
On the nose, sweet tropical fruits immediately set the tone with ripe mango and pineapple, then layered with vanilla, honey, and a pleasing note of old leather that adds depth and maturity beyond its years. The palate delivers an unmistakably Campbeltown-style oily mouthfeel, carrying bright mangoes, citrus fruits, and pineapple, all neatly integrated with a touch of maritime salt and a gentle oaky musk. The finish is long and warming, spiced but controlled, with lingering orange zest and vanilla rounding things out.
Bottled at cask strength (56.0% ABV), with natural colour and without chill filtration, this is a whisky that leans into texture and regional character rather than overt power. With an outturn of 263 bottles, it’s a compelling Campbeltown malt: rewarding, balanced, and very much a dram for those who appreciate the subtleties of this historic whisky region.
