Secret Islay 14 Year Old Tasting Notes
Official tasting notes
Nose: At first rich and mellow seaside smoke and smoky bacon ascend out the glass. More delicate lemon drizzle cake and oak emerge a little later on.
Palate: Lemon oil coats the mouth mingling beautifully with the smoke mellowed by the years. Fresh baking aromatics accompany crisp fragrances. A touch of water brings freshly cracker pepper to life.
Finish: In contrast to many whiskies, the finish exposes a rich earthiness that builds with time rather than fades. Long and smoky with touches of pepper and savoury baking.
Ed's review
Colour: Pale gold, straw. Thick and viscous in the glass with pronounced legs.
Nose: A bonfire on the beach with pebble minerality and a touch of seaweed. Tarte au citron with buttery pastry, lemon citrus, and vanilla.
Palate: Medium to full mouthfeel. Pastries with lemon and vanilla cream, seasoned with sea salt. Smoke from earthy peat burning on mineral rocks. Alcohol is well integrated.
Finish: Long. Earthy peat smoke dances with the lemon citrus and fades into bright spice.
Overall: Wonderful, absolutely delicious, bound to delight Islay fans.
About Rumours Chapter 3
This is the finale of Uncharted’s hugely popular Rumours series. It is the third of three exceptional casks, all from the salty shores of Islay, all cask strength and all enigmatically un-disclosed distilleries of origin. Each bottle has been lovingly bottled by Jack and Dana’s hand, hand labelled and individually numbered. Throughout this their Rumours series, Jack and Dana have not been able to name any of the Islay distilleries on the labels, but they have always been able to hint… maybe even started a Rumour or three?
Check out the clues below for Chapter 3 and remember it’s one of the 10 Islay distilleries and can't be named…

What about taxes?
All alcoholic products sold by TopWhiskies are sold subject to UK alcohol tax, which is already included in the price.
UK sales are subject to VAT (currently 20%), which is included in the price. Sales outside of the UK are not subject to this tax, and international prices do not include it.
We use a specialist US shipper who sorts out US taxes. These costs are factored into the US shipping charges. So shipping may look pricey, but remember it covers your taxes as well, so there'll be no further bills.
For all other territories, including those in Europe, please note: your order could be subject to local sales taxes and duties upon arrival in the destination country. All additional charges are the responsibility of the recipient. As customs policies vary widely from country to country, TopWhiskies has no control over these charges, so you should contact your local customs office for further information. If you refuse to pay any import duties and taxes, this could result in the goods being destroyed by customs or being returned back to us - any refund offered would include a deduction of our costs.
Which couriers do you use?
In the UK we use Royal Mail, Parcelforce and APC. US orders are sent via UPS. International orders use FedEx and DHL. Orders are despatched from our UK warehouse Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays.
