Speyside 13 Year Old Tasting Notes
Official tasting notes
Nose: A bright fruit-driven nose. Apricots, stewed apples, brown sugar and a touch of sticky toffee.
Palate: Complex. Layers of delicate stone fruit, tinned fruit syrup and icing sugar weave in and out of richer classic sherry influences of sticky toffee pudding, dates and chocolate.
Finish: Bright sugars and fruity syrup mellow first leaving the headier notes to share centre stage with cinnamon spices and black pepper. A long warmth mellows in the mouth over next few minutes.
Ed's review
Colour: Natural colour; straw gold.
Nose: Soft and most welcoming. Buttery pastries with creme patisserie and strawberry jam. Green apples and pears, with fresh vanilla. A golden cereal note.
Palate: Medium mouthfeel. Warm apple compote and fresh peaches. Vanilla sponge with icing frosting. Milk chocolate, with plenty of milk. Bright spice to liven things up.
Finish: Medium to long finish. Warming with fruit and sweet cereal. A touch of wood spice.
About Uncharted's Tapestry
What do you get when you take a delicate and delicious Speyside whisky, mature it in ex-Oloroso sherry octaves, ex Pedro Ximenez sherry cask and ex-bourbon wood, before weaving the three together? A tapestry.
Each of Uncharted's whiskies is named after a song or album they love. The name always has to suit the character of the dram or how they made it. Tapestry, is the name given to this delicate weaving of these casks to create a “triple cask” whisky. Oloroso sherry octaves, woven into a Pedro Ximenez Sherry cask and a remarkable ex-bourbon cask. This is a dram Jack and Dana have created from scratch, taking a fantastic Speyside canvas and maturing spirit further in their personal selection of wood to create a whisky both powerful and subtle.

What about taxes?
All alcoholic products sold by TopWhiskies are sold subject to UK alcohol tax, which is already included in the price.
UK sales are subject to VAT (currently 20%), which is included in the price. Sales outside of the UK are not subject to this tax, and international prices do not include it.
We use a specialist US shipper who sorts out US taxes. These costs are factored into the US shipping charges. So shipping may look pricey, but remember it covers your taxes as well.
For all other territories, including those in Europe, please note: your order could be subject to local sales taxes and duties upon arrival in the destination country. All additional charges are the responsibility of the recipient. As customs policies vary widely from country to country, TopWhiskies has no control over these charges, so you should contact your local customs office for further information. If you refuse to pay any import duties and taxes, this could result in the goods being destroyed by customs or being returned back to us - any refund offered would include a deduction of our costs.
Which couriers do you use?
In the UK we use Royal Mail, Parcelforce and APC. US orders are sent via UPS. International orders use FedEx and DHL.
