Tri Carragh Blair Athol 12 Year Old Tasting Notes

Nose: Aromas of blackcurrants, raspberries, strawberries (Vimto?). Hints of liquorice, plums and slight vanilla notes, with violets and lavender at the end.

Palate: The taste brings the dark fruits as well along with a slight pepper and anise spice - slightly tannic but not overwhelming. With water the aroma brings the floral notes to prominence becoming more dominant. The reduced taste continues with the berries as before - if anything more fresh and juicy making you want more and more!

Finish: Dark fruits and spice, leaves you ready for another sip. Delicious.

The Three Pillars

Tri Carragh

Tri Carragh is Gaelic for ‘three pillars’. It’s a nod and celebration to the three fundamental core ingredients which are used in the creation of whisky. Water, barley and yeast have been used for centuries to produce Scotland’s finest spirit. When put through their paces, left to rest for years in an oak cask, they create a unique liquid, every single time. Independent bottler Tri Carragh select their single cask whiskies in a thoughtful manner, choosing the distillery and spirit which will encourage the most conversation.
