Tri Carragh Aultmore 16 Year Old Tasting Notes
Nose: With aromas of polished mahogany wood, cinnamon spice, red apples, cider, cherries, almonds, tablet and milk chocolate... the nose fills the senses with flavour!
Palate: The unreduced palate continues with wood spices, cinamon, red fruits and tannins expected from 5 years in a 1st fill oloroso sherry cask. With water, apples and cider notes are more prominent bringing more freshness to the nose, along with floral notes from a morning dew on the fields around Aultmore distillery. The taste with water is much juicer; red berries join the apples and add to the freshness.
Finish: Long with fruit and a touch of spice. Very moreish!
