About this Pintail whisky

From The Whisky Cellar’s Pintail Range comes this 10-year-old Highland single malt from Tullibardine, a distillery known for its elegant, fruity spirit and affinity with wine and fortified cask maturations. For this release, the whisky spent 2.5 years finishing in a Calvados barrel, a distinctive choice that introduces layers of orchard fruit character. Calvados, an apple brandy from Normandy, France, lends a gentle sweetness and spiced apple depth, complementing Tullibardine’s naturally light and fruity style.

The nose opens with crisp green apple skins, dried apricots, meadow flowers, and hints of charred oak. On the palate, honey-drenched orchard fruits mingle with buttery pastry, cinnamon spice, and vanilla, creating the feel of an apple tart fresh from the oven. The finish lingers with cooked apples, a warming white peppercorn prickle, and toasted oak.

Bottled at 54.1%, with no added colour and without chill filtration, this limited edition of just 222 bottles showcases a rare meeting of Highland malt and French apple brandy cask influence - a bright, aromatic whisky with both finesse and richness.

Meet The Founder

Keith Bonnington

Keith Bonnington has over two decades of experience in the whisky industry, including 11 years at Edrington. He was made Keeper of the Quaich in 2013, and founded The Whisky Cellar in 2016.

His main collection of whiskies is indeed called The Whisky Cellar. These are single cask whiskies bottled all natural, having been through careful review by Keith's tasting panel which has an incredible 200 years of experience between them.

Keith also has a few other excellent labels. There's Brig O'Perth, a historic brand producing highland style blended malts. Easy Sipper, a range of easy-drinking single grain whiskies. And Pintail, a vintage collection of diverse spirits including whisky, sherry and port.
