About this Pintail whisky
This is a rather special single malt whisky from Pintail. It was distilled at Caol Ila in 2012 and matured initially in a refill Sherry butt. Keith Bonnington then reracked the whisky into a cask that previously held Pineau des Charentes, a highly revered ancient fortified wine of the Cognac region in Western France. The result is a whisky with notes of a smouldering beach bonfire, toasted almonds, gingerbread, charred citrus peel and dark toffee.
