Secret Islay Tasting Notes

Nose: Cinnamon pears and toffee apples, a sea breeze with a touch of chilli pepper. Hint of charred wood and ashy aniseed.

Palate: Juicy! Big red tangy grapes, glacé cherries, and malty caramel provide the sweetness in perfect harmony with an undertone of earthy, ashy peat that isn't overpowering but adding an extra dimension to what is a beautifully balanced dram.

Finish: A good length finish, leaving you with a real lingering ashyness and the desire for another sip!

Islay Whisky Club exclusive bottle number three! As with almost all whisky from Islay, the faintest sniff of the bottle immediately transports you to the island. A sniff of this particular bottle transports you about three miles due east of Port Ellen, to one of the most beautiful distilleries, not just on Islay but in the whole of Scotland.

ABV at last re-guage was 63.5%, it is possible the final ABV at bottling may vary slightly.
