Distilled at Amrut Distillery and bottled on 18 November 2025, this whisky has been matured in an ex-rye barrel - a cask type that introduces spice, structure, and a subtle dryness to balance Amrut’s naturally rich and fast-maturing spirit. India’s warmer climate accelerates maturation, meaning that even at six years old, the whisky shows a depth and concentration more commonly associated with much older Scotch.
Amrut is known for its bold, flavour-forward profile, and this release leans into that strength. The rye cask influence adds a gently spiced backbone, enhancing the whisky’s inherent sweetness and amplifying its dessert-like qualities without tipping into excess.
On the nose, toasted almonds and freshly baked chocolate brownies set an indulgent tone. The palate follows with chewy, old-fashioned toffees, delivering a dense, mouth-coating sweetness that feels both rich and satisfying.
