Red Bag 17 Year Old Tasting Notes

Tasting notes by Dramfool

Colour: gold

Nose: with notes of sunflower, herbs and a minerality all leading to a light floral note, with of course that unmistakeable Islay peat. Adding water changes it to reveal and citrus and ripe banana sweetness.

Palate: While the peat comes through it does not dominate, could even be considered light and fresh version of this now more commonly heavy peated distillery style. Tropical fruit leads from pineapple to banana with a sweet citrus note and even a spiciness.

Finish: With a long elegant peaty smoke and a delicate sweetness the finish lingers.
