Cameronbridge 12 Year Old tasting notes
Nose: Buttery Biscuit Base with a capital B! Smells like a Parisian bee at breakfast - waxy, covered in pastry flakes and coffee.
Palate: A brown sugar cube with a penchant for arson and the nickname “thick and chewy”. This shouts notes of rye bread, slathered In dark honey, and topped with caramel-coated almonds.
Finish: Long, warming and slightly smokey. Like taking a nap in a cosy knitted jumper by an open fire.
About this Cut Your Wolf Loose release
Cut Your Wolf Loose x Chloe Studies – Cameronbridge 12 Year Old (Release #17) is a single grain whisky with more attitude than it has any right to. Distilled at Cameronbridge, the beating heart of grain whisky production in Scotland, and matured in a heavily charred STR cask, this release brings new life and smoky richness to the Lowlands’ famously smooth style. Bottled at cask strength (56.9%), with natural colour and no chill filtration, it’s an unapologetically bold dram - only 174 bottles were produced.
Cameronbridge’s naturally light, creamy spirit is given a serious depth charge by the STR (shaved, toasted, re-charred) cask, which injects layers of caramel, smoke, and texture. The result? A whisky that blurs the line between dessert and decadence.
On the nose, it’s all buttery biscuit base - rich, waxy, and full of patisserie warmth, like a Parisian bee at breakfast covered in pastry flakes and coffee. The palate is thick, chewy, and gloriously indulgent, delivering notes of brown sugar, toasted rye bread, dark honey, and caramel-coated almonds. The finish is long and comforting, with a gentle smokiness that feels like nodding off in a chunky knit by an open fire.
A grain with serious presence - playful, polished, and proudly unconventional.
