How to fix Talisker

How to fix Talisker

"Wait - what?  How to fix Talisker?  I didn't know Talisker was even broken?!"

OK, stay with us on this one.  Talisker, like many of the whisky greats, has a wide range of bottlings.  And some of those bottlings are incredible, for example Talisker 18 year old.  Others are, well, less incredible, for example Talisker Skye.  We've reviewed both recently, and you can catch up on the videos below.

We review Talisker Skye, a malt whisky from Islay. This is a scotch with a more well-rounded and sweet flavour profile than the other whiskies in the Talisker range. Film Cited: Kaufman, Boris, On The Waterfront (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, 2014).

We review Talisker 18, a old single malt whisky from Islay. This is a outstanding scotch that's thick, rich and full-bodied with notes of spice, peppery oak, espresso beans and wood smoke. Film Cited: Huston, John, The Maltese Falcon (Warner Home Video, 2006).

But here's the problem: often the incredible bottlings are somewhat pricey, while the affordable bottlings are more standard.  Now of course we, like you, would like to be drinking the great stuff all the time.  But, for obvious reasons thats not always possible.  So, how can you make a mediocre whisky a treat to drink on a Thursday night when you're crashing out watching a film with a friend?

The video below explains all!  And all you need to recreate this experiment is: Talisker Skye; chips; spicy salsa; and, if you're wanting to draw the comparison, Talisker 18 year old.

We explain how to fix Talisker whisky. "Fix Talisker whisky?!", we hear you say - watch for the full story.
